SmartCore supports HomeKit and Matter protocols, which enable control through smartphone apps like Apple Home or Google Home:
- Apple HomeKit – established protocol compatible with Apple Home and Home Assistant
- Matter – modern protocol introduced in 2022 that works with Apple Home, Home Assistant, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Samsung Smart Things and other major smart home platforms
You can either pair SmartCore to HomeKit or Matter.
Moving forward, we will rely primarily on Matter as the standard protocol. In the meantime, we continue to support HomeKit for device categories not yet covered by the Matter specification, such as garage doors and alarm systems.
