Application Controller
If the DALI line has no central controller, or the one it has does not support IEC 62386-103, the coupler can drive the lights itself. In application controller mode it stops sending event notifications and sends DALI commands instead.
Enable it with a DALI configuration tool: address the device first, then switch on the application controller setting. Turning it off returns the coupler to input device mode.
Assigning commands
Each button is given a command for short press and a command for long press. The available commands are:

| DAPC | Goes to a brightness you enter as a percentage |
| TC | Sets a colour temperature, for DT8 tunable white fixtures |

Targets
Each button addresses up to four targets. A target is a broadcast, one of groups G00 to G15, or a single address A00 to A63. When the button is operated, the targets are processed one after the other.
That is what lets a single button switch a group of ceiling lights and set the colour temperature of a second group in one press.
Device groups
The coupler can be assigned to up to 32 control device groups. These are groups of control devices such as couplers and sensors. They are not the luminaire groups that the commands above address, and the two numbering schemes are unrelated.
