Logic Functions
The Binary4 has eight logic channels and eight event groups. They run inside the device and work on any group address in your installation, so they are not limited to the four inputs.
Logic channels
Each of the eight channels is set to one of four types.
AND, OR, XOR
Up to eight inputs per channel. Each input is connected normally, connected inverted, or left out of the operation. Each also has a default value that applies before its first telegram arrives. The result can be inverted as well.
Gate forwarding
Routes one of four inputs to one or more of four outputs, as 1 bit, 4 bit or 1 byte. A scene number selects the active route, up to eight scenes per channel, plus a default scene that applies when the device starts. Select the scene before you send anything through the gate, otherwise the default one applies.
Threshold comparator
Compares an incoming 4-bit, 1-byte, 2-byte or 4-byte value against a threshold. For each of the six comparisons (less than, equal, not equal, greater than, less than or equal, greater than or equal) you decide whether to send 0, send 1, or send nothing. If two comparisons overlap, the last matching one applies.
Format convert
Converts between data types, for example eight 1-bit objects into one byte, one byte into two bytes, or one 3-byte object into three separate bytes. Ten conversions are available, most of them in both directions.
Sending the result
Every channel sends its result either on each incoming telegram or only when the result changes, with an optional send delay. The first result after start-up is always sent, even if it has not changed. A logic input can also be read from the bus after voltage recovery, so the channel starts with real values instead of defaults.
Event groups
Each of the eight groups has eight outputs. An output has a data type of 1 bit, 1 byte or 2 bytes, a fixed value, and a send delay of up to 6.3 seconds. Up to six scene numbers trigger it. One scene telegram can therefore set up to eight objects at once, staggered by their delays.
