Network Settings
Choosing your connection
Ethernet (recommended)
Ethernet gives you a stable, high-speed wired connection. WiserPort prioritizes Ethernet automatically: if both Ethernet and Wi-Fi are connected, Ethernet is used.
To use Ethernet:
- Connect an Ethernet cable from your network to the LAN port on WiserPort
- Open the Web Interface by connecting to your WiserPort here and navigate to Settings > Network
- Ethernet is listed under Connected via
- Choose your IP configuration (DHCP or Static)
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi gives you a wireless connection when Ethernet is not available. Power the device with a 20-30 V DC supply when using Wi-Fi only.
IP Settings
Choose whether IPv4 settings are obtained automatically via Auto (DHCP) or configured manually as Static IP.
Auto (DHCP)
DHCP automatically assigns an IP address from your router. This is the recommended option for most users.
Static IP
To assign WiserPort a fixed address, select Static IP and enter
- IP Address (for example
192.168.1.100) - Netmask (usually
255.255.255.0) - Gateway (for example
192.168.1.1)
Click Save.
