Network Settings

Choosing your connection

Ethernet gives you a stable, high-speed wired connection.

To use Ethernet:

  1. Connect an Ethernet cable from your network to the LAN port on WiserPort
  2. Optional: Connect to your WiserPort here to open the Web Interface, then go to Network Settings and choose your IP configuration (DHCP or Static)

Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi gives you a wireless connection when Ethernet is not available. When using Wi-Fi only, power the device with a 20-30 V DC supply.

Connection Details

The Connection Details panel shows WiserPort's current network status.

MAC Address: the hardware address of the active network interface IP Address: WiserPort's current address on your network

IP Settings

Choose whether IPv4 settings are obtained automatically via Auto (DHCP) or configured manually as Static IP.

Auto (DHCP)

DHCP assigns an IP address from your router automatically. This is the recommended option for most users.

Static IP

To assign WiserPort a fixed address, select Static IP and enter

  • IP Address (for example 192.168.1.100)
  • Netmask (usually 255.255.255.0)
  • Gateway (for example 192.168.1.1)

Click Save.
